About the Event
John got his first hive when he was about 22 years old - "I didn't have a clue what I was doing". He kept bees off and on through the years, but nothing too serious. In 2017 he started again fresh, joined the North Fraser Bee Club and got right into it. Last year he started with a written plan to become sustainable in his little apiary. He started with 6 double-deep hives with commercially bread queens and at the end of the season he wintered 14 colonies - 7 double-deep and 7 nucs - all his own queens grafted, marked and mated right in his own apiary.
In addition to our speaker, this is the club's Annual General Meeting. We strongly encourage club members to attend.
